The
forecaster is given specific situations and asked to take appropriate
action. Performance criteria
relating to forecasting are not assessed. Rather, the simulation elicits
action taken once a specific forecast process is complete. The forecaster is asked to either
participate in a role play situation or to describe all steps which would be
taken. The forecaster is asked to
provide a briefing either to a hypothetical client or to another forecaster
