Presents Weather

Performance Criterion Description:

In addition to mandated weather parameters, the observer is encouraged to report imminent, significant or unusual events impacting meteorological forecasts, aviation safety or operations.

Scenario:       

During an assessment period the observer is asked to provide weather observations and ensure their communication through the appropriate dissemination systems.

Evidence:

The observer uses knowledge and initiative to note and report 

• other meteorological events impacting aviation forecasts
• other imminent, significant or unusual events impacting aviation safety or operations such as
• CB developing rapidly over ridges
• distant squall line approaching aerodrome
• visibility temporarily reduced by aerodrome operations snow blowing, sweeping
• flocks of birds over ceilometer
