Observer monitors systems, takes remedial action

Performance Criterion Description:

The observer must monitor systems and take appropriate action to ensure the un-interrupted delivery of services. 

Scenario:       

During an assessment period the observer is confronted with a technical, instrument or other system failure that requires the enactment of backup, contingency or emergency plans to ensure minimal disruption of service.

Evidence:

The observer follows standard operating procedures or contingency plans.

• the observer is aware of systems
• monitors data flow of the systems in his area of responsibility
• is aware of contingency plans
• identifies the need to apply the contingency plans
• takes appropriate action
