Observing significant weather phenomenon

Performance Criterion Description:

The observer can accurately evaluate significant weather phenomenon.

Scenario:       

During an assessment period the observer is asked to apply knowledge and skill in order to evaluate precipitation and other significant weather phenomena.

Evidence:

The observer must use appropriate knowledge, techniques and instrumentation to accurately assess

• precipitation type
• precipitation rate and amount
• phase change
• visibility correlations
• correlate precipitation and runway conditions
• observe and reports other significant weather phenomena (as defined in ICAO annex 3)
