Observer Performance Criterion 2.1b
Observing visibility
Performance Criterion Description:
The observer accurately evaluates
visibility parameters including directional visibility,
prevailing visibility, vertical visibility
and RVR data.
Scenario:
During an assessment period the observer is
asked to apply knowledge and skill to evaluate and report visibility
parameters.
Evidence:
The observer must use knowledge and skill
to
- accurately evaluate visibility under
daytime and night time conditions
- issue timely regular visibility reports
and special reports based on visibility threshold values
- evaluate and report on RVR data
- apply daytime and night procedures for
measurement and or estimation of vertical visibility
- correctly reports visibility hourly and
issues special reports at appropriate changes in threshold values
