Effective observation routine

Performance Criterion Description:

The observer utilizes effective observation routines.

Scenario:       

During an assessment period the forecaster is asked to explain and/or work through the process that is being used to produce the forecast.  

Evidence:

The observer utilizes a systematic, scientific approach

• using appropriate observation techniques
• correctly using instrumentation
• using a consistent routine and documenting data
• focusing on areas of most  significant weather first
• obtaining all data before compiling report
