Effective forecast routines

Performance Criterion Description:

The forecaster utilizes effective forecast routines.

Scenario:       

During an assessment period the forecaster is asked to explain and/or work through the process that is being used to produce the forecast.  

Evidence:

The forecaster utilizes a systematic, scientific approach

1. using techniques appropriate for forecast range
2. appropriately using subjective and NWP statistical guidance
3. commencing with predicting  the motion and evolution of major features
4. focusing on areas of most  significant weather first
