Diagnosis of current weather situation.
Performance Criterion Description:
The forecaster must diagnose the weather
situation. In most cases, the results of analysis will provide supporting evidence
for the diagnosis.
Scenario:
During an assessment period the forecaster
is asked to diagnose the current weather situation and provide evidence
supporting the diagnosis.
Evidence:
The forecaster
- uses meteorological knowledge to select
the most plausible meteorological process at work that would produce the
observed weather conditions.
- explains the meteorological process at
work
- explains how the observed weather
parameters support the diagnosis including
- clouds
- precipitation
- restriction to visibility
- surface winds
- turbulence
- icing
- other relevant information
